Gatlinburg Tennessee is a popular vacation spot because of the large number of attractions located there. Gatlinburg attractions range from activities and landmarks found in nature and those found in the city environment. The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is located in Gatlinburg, and is one of the largest and most amazing parks in the country. There are lookout points, amazing species of wildlife, countless plants, trees and flowers, rivers, lakes, waterfalls and more. The park has something to offer everyone. Whether you want to take a guided tour or explore on your own this is a beautiful place to do so.

The Gatlinburg Smoky Mountains are the perfect location for hiking, camping, horseback riding, fishing, mountain biking, white water rafting and other outdoor activities. You may want to enjoy the area while staying at Gatlinburg Falls, a top rated luxury resort with cabin rentals, pools, a playground, visitors center and more. Another place to stay that puts you in the middle of the action is the Edgewater at The Aquarium. This hotel is in the middle of the city and in close proximity to the Ripley Gatlinburg Aquarium.

The Ripley's Aquarium of The Smokies is an amazing structure that is home to a dazzling range of sea life. There are different ecosystem habitats such as the Amazon, ocean and more. There is a shark habitat for those who want to view these fierce giants like never before. You'll get to see countless exotic tropical fish up close and even touch a live manta ray. Along with the mind boggling ocean creatures already housed at this aquarium, there will soon be an exhibit of penguins. Admission to the aquarium is very reasonable when you realize how much there is to see and do. It is an ideal destination for kids and adults. Ripley's also has other museums in Gatlinburg including Ripley's Marvelous Mirror Maze and Candy Factory, and Ripley's Haunted Adventure to name two.

There are many other Gatlinburg attractions, some of which may surprise you. For example, lovers of the paranormal may want to see Hauntings A Live Ghost Show. If you're looking for adrenaline pumping fun, try Earthquake, a simulation thrill ride. Or, check out the Laser Tag 3D facility. There are water parks, amusement parks, and golf courses as well. In addition, many of the shopping centers, boutiques and restaurants could also be considered attractions also.
